Weir LGE Process

Manufacture and fabrication of sophisticated alloys requires comprehensive quality assurance procedures to ensure product integrity at all stages of production.

All materials supplied by us are subject to detailed quality assessment, audit and surveillance by our team of experts, and are manufactured in strict accordance with our Materials Data Sheets, Quality Plans and other approved procedures. In particular, for Zeron 100®, the material is melted to our own proprietary chemical composition, by licensed steel manufacturers. Raw materials are then converted into finished products by manufacturers working to our own approved and qualified manufacturing procedures. Heat treatment furnaces and procedures are approved prior to manufacture to ensure that optimum properties of the steel are maintained. Custom-built heat treatment facilities are used for some Zeron 100 products as well as for out castings.

The Weir Materials and Foundries Quality System has been assessed and approved by many of our major clients, and is accredited to ISO 9002 by LRQA, with continuous reassessment to ensure the ongoing supply of quality products.

Weir Materials and Foundries is registered with First Point Assessment Ltd. (registration No. 40410) and qualified to NORSOK M-650 rev 2 for both wrought and cast products. We also have approval for the manufacture of castings from Lloyds Register of Shipping, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Det Norske Veritas.

All products are certified, as a minimum, in accordance with EN 10204 3.1.B. Independently witnessed testing and certification is carried out when required.

The Weir Materials and Foundries Testing Laboratory is accredited by UKAS for a wide range of mechanical, metallurgical, chemical and corrosion tests.
